So.... what IS an Astrex Rabbit???

It's an olden breed of rabbit; a curly coated rex furred bunny. The original breed had a full coat of curls, similar to a Rex coated cat. They were bred many years ago in France before the turn of the 19th century and also in England in the 1930's and 1940's. Astrex Rabbits seem to have died out due to a lack of interest in the breed.

Our first Astrex Type Rabbit is Simon, a harlequin colored Mini-Rex. I say "Astrex Type" since he does not show full body curl. We won't be able to see to what extent he is curled until his adult coat comes in after 2 years of age. Astrex Rabbits go through different stages of molts and different looks before they reach their adult coats. Simon started out with nice curls around the belly and sides and has since molted out to a frizzy coat.

Some of our other Astrex Type rabbits include Sizzle, Flame, and Keeper.
